Mobile Internet Open Architecture Arquitectura abierta de Internet móvil
A group of companies decided to create a new mobile broadband open architecture. Sprint, Clearwire, Intel, Google, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks formed a new company to deploy the first nationwide next-generation mobile WiMAX network. Sprint will own the largest stake in the new company.

Tough Times: Cisco Remains Cautious... Tiempos difíciles: Cisco se mantiene cauteloso...
In front of the tougher times ahead, Cisco remains cautious in its forecasts. The networking company published the financial results of its last quarter with sales of $9.781 billion and net income of $1.773. Its sales grew 10.43 % year-over-year. Its net income declined 5.39% as a consequence of acquisition charges.

Sprint Nextel Corporation is considering spinning off or selling its Nextel unit because the common businesses are not running well. In 2005, Sprint expended $35 billion in the acquisition of Nextel Communications. After approximately 3 years working together, Sprint says the merger has been a failure.

On Saturday, May 3, Microsoft withdrew the proposal to acquire Yahoo! Steve Ballmer, CEO's Microsoft, said: "Despite our best efforts, including raising our bid by roughly $5 billion, Yahoo has not moved toward accepting our offer. After careful consideration, we believe the economics demanded by Yahoo do not make sense for us, and it is in the best interests of Microsoft stockholders, employees and other stakeholders to withdraw our proposal."

Google Extends its Friendship with IBM Google extiende su amistad con IBM
Google is extending its business links with IBM. The Internet search engine company seeks deal with the technology leader to sell its desktop business tools. It wants IBM and its network of resellers and systems integration partners help in the transactions with large companies. According to several sources, Eric Schmidt commented about a new partnership with IBM.

Hewlett-Packard said researchers from HP Labs developed the "Memristor", new memory technologies that consume far less power of the current technologies. "Memristor" could be used as supplement or replace today's commonly used dynamic random access memory (DRAM).
