How we began
In 1979, a small team of professors and students built the Computer Lab of the Economic Sciences Department of the Buenos Aires University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The enthusiast members of this team installed a minicomputer Digital PDP-11 in one classroom and began the development of applications for the students of the careers of economy, administration and accounting of the Buenos Aires University.

Also in the Computer Labs, the team organized special courses where the participants used the time "rethinking the technology".

In the following years, the scope was changing but the main direction continued. In the Eighty years, a consulting firm was founded in Buenos Aires as a business issue of the Computer Lab project.

While the company was managing computer consulting projects, it began to analyze the news from the information technology market and their implications. As consequence of this initiative, the firm added the activity of publish articles and notes in different business and technical publications and books.

Who we are
In 1996, Comlab Corp (Computer Lab) was founded in Miami, USA, as a new step of the Computer Lab project of the 1979 and the consulting firm of Buenos Aires of the Eighty and the Ninety years.

Comlab Corp is an information technology analysis firm with a wide focus because its motto is: "rethinks the technology".

Comlab produces different public reports for the readers who have interest in the evolution of the technology and/or the business of the technology. Also it works with clients who need special studies about the technology market or who want to present its contributions to the market by special documents and white papers.

What we do

Cómo comenzamos
En 1979, un pequeño grupo de profesores y alumnos construyó el Laboratorio de Computación de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Los miembros entusiastas de este grupo instalaron un minicomputador Digital PDP-11 en una sala de clases y comenzaron a desarrollar aplicaciones para los estudiantes de las carreras de economía, administración y contador de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.

También en el Laboratorio de Computación, el grupo organizó cursos especiales donde los participantes usaban el tiempo "repensando la tecnología".

En los siguientes años, el ámbito fue cambiando pero la principal dirección continuó. En los Ochenta, una firma de consultoría fue fundada en Buenos Aires como una salida de negocios del proyecto del Laboratorio de Computación.

Mientras la compañía fue manejando proyectos de consultoría de computación, comenzó a analizar las noticias del mercado de la tecnología de la información y sus implicancias. Como consecuencia de esa iniciativa, la firma agregó la actividad de publicar artículos y notas en publicaciones de negocios y técnicas y libros.

En 1996, Comlab Corp (Computer Lab) fue fundada en Miami, Estados Unidos, como un nuevo paso de lo que fue el proyecto del Laboratorio de Computación de 1979 y la firma de consultoría de Buenos Aires de los años Ochenta y Noventa.

Comlab Corp es una firma de análisis de la tecnología de la información con un ancho foco porque su lema es: "repensar la tecnología".

Comlab Corp. produce diferentes informes públicos para los lectores que tienen interés en la evolución de la tecnología y/o los negocios de tecnología.
